Southern California has one of the best playmakers in the country, Te-Hina Paopao (La Jolla Country Day). This energetic point guard plays for one of the state’s power-houses and, just like her school, will be a force to be reckoned with. Even as a sophomore, Coach Terri Bamfield knows Te-Hina will be a floor general, leading her team toward another long run in the postseason.
Up the road from San Diego, Etiwanda has a power forward who can do it all in Nnenna Orji. She will own the boards and be a go-to player for an already talent-loaded team this season. McKayla Williams (Windward) is another power forward who can play on the outside and also dominate the inside when Coach Vanessa Nygaard needs her to. McKayla will be called upon to lead this team to another deep state title run. These are just a few of the influential sophomores who will make a major impact on their teams.
